Passives and Discretes
While passive components (resistors, capacitors, and related products) represent only 10 to 15 percent of the total component costs found in an OEM's end product, the products typically total 70 to 80 percent of the items required. Passive components are typically low end price items. Simplifying the purchase of passive components allows a buyer to concentrate their efforts on the larger expenditures.
