Lew LaFornara, Vice President of Supplier Marketing, TTI

Lew is Vice President of Supplier Marketing at TTI. He has more than 28 years experience in the electronic components industry working on both the manufacturing and component distribution sides of the business. While working for Amphenol Aerospace in the military/aerospace market and for FCI/Berg Electronics in the commercial connector market, LaFornara spent the majority of his career managing the distribution channel both domestically and globally. Prior to joining TTI, he was Vice President of Interconnect at Future Electronics and has experience with Avnet's Hamilton/Hallmark Electronics unit. In addition to his work experience he has served on the Board of Directors of NEDA, as well as on the Board of the NEDA Education Foundation.

Michael Schwert

Michael Schwert, Founder, Cumulus, Inc.

Michael is the founder of Cumulus, Inc. He has more than 20 years of marketing and sales as well as design experience in the electronic and electrical component industry. Prior to founding Cumulus, he was Director of Marketing for Cherry Electrical Products and held other marketing management positions with Panduit, BRK Electronics, and Ideal Industries.

Cumulus provides market information and consulting services for the global electronic components industry. The company offers three publications: Switch Tracks, a quarterly report with market information on component switches; the Relay Report, a quarterly report with market information on component relays; and Market Notes, a monthly report on sales, bookings, and business conditions in the relay and switch market. Cumulus also manages projects that help leading global suppliers in the relay and switch industry to develop new products and reach new markets.

Schwert provides MarketEye with monthly articles that include timely and accurate market information for the electromechanical component sector of the electronics industry.

Mike Garrick, Lead Product Marketing Specialist — Power Supplies, Relays, & Cabling Solutions, Phoenix Contact

Mike has been employed with Phoenix Contact since 1993. Since 2002 Mike has been employed as a Lead Product Marketing Specialist relating to Power Supplies, Relays and Cabling Solutions. His main responsibilities include customer IC level development/support and the application of DeviceNet, Profibus and INTERBUS I/O networks. Before becoming a Lead Specialist relating to Power Supplies, Relays and Cabling Systems Mike was formerly a Lead Engineer in the Automation group for Phoenix Contact. Mike Garrick is a graduate of Electronics Institute Technical School.

Terry Harmon, Product Manager, Omron

Terry is a tenured and valued member of the Omron Electronic Components’ team. He achieved his formal training with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana. In his 19 years with Omron, Terry has held the positions of Product Application Engineer, Product Marketing Specialist, Assistant Product Marketing Manager, and currently, Product Manager. Terry’s Product Manager responsibilities are focused on MOS FET Relays, High Frequency and Telecom Signal Relays, and FPC/FFC Connectors.

Harold Leipold, Senior Product Engineer, Tyco Electronics

Harold is a Senior Product Engineer with the Tyco Electronics General Purpose Relay Group. Harold has more than 32 years experience with the Tyco/Potter & Brumfield group primarily in industrial control design and in the application, testing and agency certification of relays for the HVAC, appliance, and industrial control markets. He also participates on IEC US TAG TC94 and NEMA SC31 standards committees related to electromechanical relays.
